Certified cloud security specialist– good for entry-level cloud security certificate

For those who do not know much about the CCSS, it is the brainchild of the Global Science.

Technology Forum (GSTF), a Singapore-based training and certification organization. The CCSS is just one of a number of the GSF’s cloud-related certifications, which implements through the traditional associate, specialist, professional sequence. This cloud security certificate is a 3-day intensive training program with project work component, which focuses on cloud computing with respect to its security aspects.

The CCSS will impart in-depth knowledge in terms of security risks in the context of cloud computing, related issues, and solutions. A participant will also gain knowledge about cloud security issues from an architectural design perspective. Besides, this course will cover cloud computing security taxonomies under two categories. The first is architectural and technological security taxonomy and the second is a process and governance-related security taxonomy. Additionally, this course will also impart knowledge about the key concept of Security as a Service (SECaaS) CSA’s Enterprise Architecture with a focus n its SRM (Security and Risk Management), as well as defense security systems for cloud infrastructure and cloud security administrative best practices. The course will also present relevant industrial case studies to underscore the security issues in the cloud.

What is the cloud security certificate suitable for?

This cloud security certificate is suited to cloud operations engineers, cloud infrastructure engineers, cloud services product analysts, Cloud software engineer (solution/database), senior cloud operations engineers, application support managers, cloud development manager, cloud operations managers, cloud services product manager, infrastructure architect or integration architect.

Also, participants need to have any one of the following certifications to take up this kind of cloud security certificate: GSTF Certified Cloud Computing Associate (CCCA), GSTF Certified Cloud Computing Specialist (CCCS) and EXIN Cloud Technologies Advanced. The exam consists of 2 components. The first one is written examination – 30 multiple-choice questions in 45 minutes and if you get 65% correct answers, you will pass. The second one is project work component (PWC) – individual work and you need 2 weeks to complete from the last day of course. Similar to the first component, you need 65% correct answers to pass. Upon passing the course, you will receive “Certified Cloud Security Specialist”.

Currently, GSTF training is available to only through the organization’s Singapore outlets, but it is working with Global Knowledge to introduce the cloud certifications into its global training network in 2019. Regarding the course outline, there is a quick review of Cloud Computing, Service Models, Deployment Models and Architecture. You will learn problems in Cloud Computing and how to solve them tactfully; problems in Cloud Computing are Date Integrity, Date Theft, Privacy Issues, Infected Application, Data loss, Data location, Security on Vendor Level and Security on User Level. You also learn Security Perspectives in Cloud Architecture Design: Data Centre or Physical Security, Server Security, Network Security, Applications and Platform Security, Encryption and Key Management, and Infrastructure Security. Besides, this course covers Cloud Computing Security Taxonomies under 2 categories: Architectural & Technological aspects and Process & Regulatory-related aspects.
